  12. scholarship to the University of Cincinnati 
  13. (Ohio). But baseball scouts knew he had 
  14. great talent in their sport. In 1955, at the age 
  15. of 19, Sandy signed a contract with his
  16. hometown team, the Brooklyn Dodgers.
